Languages in Levlix
Levlix replies in your Discord language, lets you override it with /preferences, and shows English wherever a translation is missing.
Available Languages
English is the source language. Every string is written in English first, and every other language is measured against it. As of the date at the top of this page, the picture looks like this:
- English (US): complete.
- German: largely translated, about 90 percent of all strings.
- 28 further languages: partially translated, between 80 and 85 percent each. These are Bulgarian, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
- English (UK): identical to US English apart from a few spelling variants.
"Complete" means every string has its own translation. "Partially translated" means the remaining strings appear in English. The untranslated remainder is concentrated in a few areas, above all the Server Logging module, plus strings that were added recently.
How the Language Is Chosen
The language is a personal setting, not a server setting. For each reply, Levlix checks in this order:
- The language you saved with
/preferences. - If you never saved one, the language of your Discord client. The first time you use a Levlix command, that client language is stored as your initial preference.
- English, if your Discord language is not one of the 31 above.
Because the choice is tied to your account, two members of the same server can read the same command in different languages.
Slash command names and descriptions are shown in English in every Discord client. Only the replies are translated.
Changing Your Language
- Run
/preferencesin any server where Levlix is present. - Choose Language Settings.
- Pick a language from the region menus (Europe, Americas, Asia, or all).
The change applies immediately, in every server you share with Levlix. Discord itself offers only Brazilian Portuguese as a client language, so European Portuguese can be selected here and nowhere else.
Server Language in the Dashboard
The server settings in the web dashboard also contain a Language field with English, German, Spanish, and French. This is a separate, server-wide value. It is currently used by the Quizzes module, which posts quizzes in the server language because one quiz is shared by everyone in the channel. All other replies follow the personal preference described above.

Public announcements from the Notifications module have their own switch: they use either the server's Discord language or the member's Discord language, as configured in the notification settings.
