Levlix RPG Module Guide

Important
The RPG module is currently in beta. Server admins must enable it manually via Dashboard → Modules before any of the commands below become available.

This guide covers the admin-facing setup and moderation tools for the Levlix RPG System. For player-facing information about characters, equipment, and combat, see the RPG Overview.

Enabling the RPG Module

The RPG module is enabled from the Levlix Dashboard under Modules. Once turned on, all RPG slash commands become available to your members within a minute.

Once the module shows in your server's module list, its own settings page opens at Dashboard → your server → RPG. Members with the Manage Server permission can open it and see every setting; only the server's owner and its admins can change them. The Configure Settings link on the module card always leads there; the RPG entry under Economy in the sidebar appears only while the module is switched on for the server, so with the module off the module card is the way in. That page holds the module switch itself, a switch for every one of its features, and the server settings covered further down.

Feature switches

Every feature of the RPG module has its own switch on that settings page. Combat and Character Profile are always on: they carry the rest of the module, so the page marks them "Always on" and offers no switch for either.

The switches are Quests, Dungeons, Inventory & Equipment, Crafting, Grand Bazaar, Player Trading, Gem System, Party System, Guild System, Achievements, Skills, Pets, PvP Arena, The Tower and World Boss, plus Public solo screens.

Switching a feature off hides its screens on this server right away and makes its commands answer with a short note instead of running. The web dashboard follows the same switches: with the module off it shows no RPG character for this server, and a tab whose feature is off is hidden.

Crafting, Grand Bazaar and Player Trading need Inventory & Equipment and cannot be switched on while it is off. The rule holds in both directions: Inventory & Equipment cannot be switched off while Crafting, Grand Bazaar or Player Trading is still on, so switch those off first. The page says so under both rows.

Public solo screens decides whether a player's own screens (hunt results, quests, inventory) are shown to the whole channel instead of only to that player. It is off by default.

A switch takes effect at once. Public solo screens is the one exception: a bot process that missed the update keeps its old answer for up to a minute before it notices.

Player Commands Overview

Once the module is active, players can use the following commands:

Command Description
/rpg start Create a new character and begin the adventure
/rpg profile View your character stats, class, and level
/rpg hunt Hunt monsters for gold, XP and gear (5s cooldown)
/rpg rest Rest for free every 6 hours, or pay the inn
/rpg daily Daily quests
/rpg quest Active, story and side quests
/rpg dungeon Enter a dungeon

The Tower, the Arena, the World Boss, Pets, Skills, Merchants, Professions, Titles and Reminders have no command of their own: players open them from the More menu of the hub.

Players start their adventure with /rpg start. Levlix walks them through choosing a class and a name, equips a starter kit and starts the first story quest.

Visibility: Public Solo Screens

/adventure and the solo /rpg screens (hunt results, quests, inventory) are private by default: only the player who opened them sees the message. Party, guild, raid and trade screens are always visible to the whole channel.

To show solo screens to the channel as well, turn on Public solo screens on the RPG settings page under Dashboard → your server → RPG. It is off by default and can be switched back at any time.

To make screens public only in some channels, such as a dedicated RPG channel, add those channels to Public RPG channels in the server settings below. Every RPG screen opened there is visible to the whole channel, whatever the Public solo screens switch says.

Server Settings

The server settings shape how the RPG lives on your server: where screens are public, what gets announced, which roles players earn, which events run, when world bosses come and which seasons are played. A server without any settings plays with the defaults: no public channels, no announcements, no reward roles, no events, no world boss schedule, both seasons on and the cross-server arena off.

You find them in two places that edit the same settings:

  • Dashboard: the Server settings, Server events and World Boss sections of Dashboard → your server → RPG.
  • Discord: More → Server settings in the RPG hub. The entry only shows to members with the Manage Server permission and always opens privately. Besides the general settings it has pages for Reward roles, Events and the World boss.

Every change is saved at once and reaches every part of the bot.

Who Can Change What

Who Can do
Members with Manage Server Open the settings in Discord and on the dashboard and see everything, read only
The server owner and members with Administrator Change every setting, schedule and cancel events, set the world boss schedule and summon a boss

On top of that, a change is checked against the member who makes it:

  • A channel you add (announcement or public channel) must be one where you have View Channel and Send Messages.
  • A reward role you add must be one you could hand out yourself, see Reward Roles below.
  • A ping role you set must be one you could ping yourself: mentionable by everyone, or you hold Mention Everyone.

Only what a change newly sets is checked, so a value someone else saved earlier never blocks your save.

Public RPG Channels

Up to 25 channels in which every RPG screen is public, including the hub and the solo screens. Outside these channels the Public solo screens switch decides.

Announcements

Choose an Announcement channel and Levlix posts a card there for the highlights of your server. Without a channel, nothing is announced. Levlix needs View Channel and Send Messages in it; the settings warn you when it lacks them.

Under What to announce every kind is on until you switch it off:

Kind When a card is posted
Level-ups At the step you choose (every level, every 5, 10 or 25 levels; every 10 by default) and always at the highest level
Boss kills Hunt, dungeon and guild raid bosses
Epic and better drops Random drops of epic rarity or better
First dungeon clear of the week A player's first clear of a dungeon each week
Tower milestones Every tenth tower floor, the first time
Rare achievements Achievements worth 40 points or more
World boss A world boss appears, reaches half and a tenth of its HP, falls or escapes
Season results The winners of a tower or arena season
Server events A server event starts, and its last hour for events longer than 2 hours

Cards are written in the server language and carry an In my language button for everyone else. They ping nobody, and at most 5 cards a minute go out per server, so a busy evening does not flood the channel.

Ping role: optionally, a role is pinged with the announcements. The ping is a short separate message before the card, at most once every 10 minutes however many cards follow, and only while the role is still mentionable.

Reward Roles

Levlix can hand out Discord roles for RPG achievements. Each reward has its own slot:

Reward Who holds the role
Level milestones Players who reached a level. Up to 25 levels, from level 2 to 150. Level roles decides whether players keep every level role they reached or only the highest.
Leaderboard The top players of your server by level, as rank 1, top 3 and top 10. Refreshed daily; each player gets the role of their best tier only.
Tower season champion The winner of the last tower season
Arena season champion The winner of the last arena season
World boss slayer The top fighter of the last defeated world boss
World boss fighter Everyone who earned a reward from the last defeated world boss

All roles except level milestones rotate: when new holders are decided, Levlix takes the role from the previous ones.

Warning
Because Levlix hands these roles out on its own, it refuses roles that could do harm:

  • a role with Administrator, Manage Roles, Manage Server, Ban Members, Kick Members, Manage Channels, Timeout Members, Manage Webhooks or Mention Everyone;
  • a role managed by an integration, and @everyone;
  • a role at or above Levlix's highest role, or one you could not hand out yourself (at or above your own highest role, or with a permission you lack);
  • a role that is already used for another reward: every reward needs a role of its own.

Levlix needs the Manage Roles permission. It only ever takes back a role it gave itself: a member who already held the role before keeps it. If a role changes after it was saved, for example it gains a dangerous permission or moves above Levlix, Levlix skips it. When a character is deleted, its reward roles are taken back.

Server Events

Server events are timed boosts for every player on your server: Double XP, Double gold, Lucky drops, Double gathering and Monster invasion. What each one does is on Server Events & Reminders. Schedule them in the Server events section of the dashboard or on the Events page of the Discord settings.

Rule Limit
Bonus 10 to 100 % (Discord offers 25, 50, 75 and 100 %)
Length 1 to 72 hours
Start Now, or up to 30 days ahead, in UTC
Repeat Once, or every week
Same kind Only one event of each kind at a time
Scheduled events At most 10
Weekly cap 6 to 96 boosted hours per week, all events together (48 by default)

The weekly cap counts the boosted hours of each calendar week, Monday to Sunday UTC. An event that ended counts in full; a cancelled one counts up to the moment it was cancelled. Lowering the cap only limits new events.

World Boss Schedule

In the World Boss section, choose when a world boss appears on its own:

  • Off (summon by hand only): the default.
  • Every week: on one weekday at one hour (UTC).
  • Every few days: every 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10 or 14 days at one hour (UTC). The days are counted on a fixed calendar, so they do not shift when the bot restarts or a boss is summoned in between.

A boss only appears while the World Boss feature is on and at least 3 different players played the RPG on the server in the last 7 days. A slot that comes while a boss is still up is skipped, and so is a slot the bot missed by more than 6 hours. If you switch the schedule on after today's hour has passed, the first boss comes at the next slot.

Summon now brings a boss at once. It is refused while a boss is up, within 24 hours after the last boss ended, and with fewer than 3 players in the last 7 days.

Seasons and the Cross-Server Arena

Switch Default What it does
Tower seasons On A weekly ranking of the best tower floor. The top 10 earn gold, the top 3 a title, the winner the tower champion role.
Arena seasons On Monthly leagues from Bronze to Diamond with gold, titles for Platinum and Diamond and the arena champion role; ratings move halfway back to 1000 each month.
Cross-server arena Off Players here may duel characters of other servers that switched it on too, and the characters here may be duelled by them.

A season switched off ends without results, rewards or rating reset, and its champion role is taken back. The details are on Seasons & Titles.

[!NOTE] The cross-server arena shares a character's name, class, level and combat stats with the other servers that take part. It never shares which server the character plays on. A duel against a character of another server changes only the challenger's rating.

Admin: Moderating Player Data

Levlix has no tool for server admins to edit individual player data such as stats or inventory, neither on the web dashboard nor through a command. If a player hits a bug or reports an exploit, report it on the Levlix Support Discord.

Leaderboard

The RPG leaderboard ranks the characters of one server at a time and shows the top 50. It lives in the web dashboard under RPG Adventure → Leaderboard: pick one of your servers that has the RPG switched on, then switch between the By Level, By Gold and By Guild tabs.
